about

this song is about a man who was married to a woman that would clip her toenails often, and leave the clippings laying around the house and in his new car. he ended up collecting them in a glass jar and burying it in his backyard. now she has left him and he is digging holes all over the yard looking for the jar. it is the only thing he has left. the neighbor next door to him is watching this happen and inquiring about what is going on. a sad story indeed.

lyrics

(hey neighbor!) hey (what have you got there?) wha, what do you mean? (well what are you doing?)

i'm standing in the backyard, looking for an old glass jar, i buried it back in 82', just because i thought it was the thing to do. I used to keep toenails in there, cause my wife would clip em by the front stairs, and she would clip em in my new car, so i picked em up put em in a glass jar and i buried them out in the backyard. now i can't find the clippin, i need em back. i can't find the clippings. i can't find em, but i'd like to find em again.

(so what yer saying is that yer diggin holes in the backyard looking for some toenails?) my ex-wife's toenails (well thats a sad sad thing) yeah i know. it's the only thing i've got left... (well what are you going to do if you can't find these toenails?) man....

i can't think about that. i know i put em somewhere out back. we might have to pry up the doghouse, and dig down deep about two miles. their probably pretty yellow though by now, if i find em then i might get grossed out. we might have to keep em at your house. i could come and visit when it's dark out. do you think that might be okay?

(sure neighbor, anything you say)
